Suffolk's LiDAR coverage is best known for revealing the burial mounds around Sutton Hoo, but the county is full of similar earthworks — deserted villages, moated farmsteads and Anglo-Saxon sites — waiting to be spotted.
The county's gently undulating farmland preserves subtle features unusually well, making it one of the more rewarding places in England to compare a standard map against a LiDAR terrain view.
